ImaginCAT Terms of Use
Last updated: October 18, 2026
1. Agreement. These Terms govern your use of imagincat.com (the "Website") and the ImaginCAT apps for iPhone and iPad (the "Apps"; together with the Website, the "Service"), a free library of illustrated books operated by AuthorCat LLC, a Florida limited liability company with its principal place of business in Orlando, Florida, United States of America ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms, including the Discussion rules at the end of this page, and acknowledge our Privacy Policy at https://imagincat.com/privacy/. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The library. Reading open books is free and needs no account. We may add, change, or remove books and illustrations and may change or stop any part of the Service at any time. We rank and recommend books using reading time and other signals; the details of our ranking are not public.
3. Classic texts. The texts of the classic books in the library are in the public domain in the United States. They may still be protected by copyright in some other countries; if you copy them outside the Service, you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you. We prepare our own editions of these texts and may correct, format, or divide them into chapters.
4. AI-generated illustrations. The illustrations are created by AuthorCat with artificial intelligence tools and are marked as AI-generated. They are artistic interpretations of fiction: they may contain inaccuracies and are not intended to depict real persons. Do not remove the AuthorCat mark or the AI and content-provenance information embedded in the images.
5. Our content and your permission to use it. The illustrations, our editions of the texts, the selection and arrangement of the books and illustrations, the design of the Service, and the ImaginCAT and AuthorCat names and logos belong to AuthorCat LLC or its licensors, to the extent protected by law. You may read the library and share links to it, including with the Share buttons, for personal, non-commercial purposes. Unless we agree in writing, you may not:
(a) copy, download, or reuse the illustrations in bulk, or sell or license them;
(b) scrape, crawl, mirror, or frame the Service, except search engines that follow our robots.txt; (c) use the Service or its content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate artificial intelligence models; (d) interfere with the Service, bypass its access controls, or access its staff pages without permission; or (e) inflate reading time, likes, ratings, or other signals with automated tools, multiple accounts, or other artificial means.
6. Feedback. If you send us suggestions or report a problem with a book or an illustration, we may use your feedback freely and without any obligation to you.
7. Children. The Service is for a general audience. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or write comments. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
8. Your account. You can create an account by signing in with Google or Apple. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need the permission of a parent or guardian. Keep your account secure — you are responsible for what happens under it. One person, one account. You can delete your account at any time in your profile. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or the Discussion rules or harms other users or the Service.
9. Comments.
(a) Your content. You keep the rights you have in your comments. By posting a comment, you give AuthorCat LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute it on the Service, and to format it for display, for as long as it remains on the Service and for the retention periods in our Privacy Policy. Comments are public.
(b) Your responsibility. You are responsible for your comments. Post only what you have the right to post, and follow the Discussion rules.
(c) Limits. To prevent spam, we may limit how often you can post, allow links only from accounts older than a few days, and allow edits only for a short time after posting.
(d) No review in advance. We do not review comments before they appear and are not responsible for comments posted by users.
10. Moderation. Anyone signed in can report a comment with ⚑. When a comment receives several reports, it is hidden automatically until a moderator reviews it. A moderator may keep the comment, hide it, or hide it and suspend the author's ability to post for a period (for example, 7 days); for serious or repeated violations we may close the account. A hidden comment is shown as "hidden by a moderator". When we hide your comment or restrict your account, we will tell you what we did and why, in your account or by email. If you think we made a mistake, reply to that notice or write to hello@authorcat.com within six months, and a person will review the decision. We may also remove content or restrict accounts on our own initiative when we believe the content is illegal or breaks these Terms.
11. Reporting illegal content and copyright complaints. To report content you believe is illegal, use ⚑ next to it or write to hello@authorcat.com with the link (URL), why you believe it is illegal, your name and email address, and a statement that your report is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. We will confirm receipt and tell you our decision. If anyone's life or safety is in danger, contact the police first. If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, write to hello@authorcat.com with a description of the work, its location on the Service, and your contact details. We may remove content and, in appropriate circumstances, close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe.
12. Disclaimer. THE SERVICE AND ITS CONTENT, INCLUDING COMMENTS BY USERS, ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
13. Limitation of liability. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AUTHORCAT LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50). Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
14. Governing law. These Terms and any dispute relating to the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The state and federal courts located in the State of Florida have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
15. Changes. We may update these Terms. The current version is always on this page with its date. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Contact. AuthorCat LLC, Orlando, Florida, USA — hello@authorcat.com
