Return to Geneva: the storm and the accused

Two friends walk home to the lodging house, where a letter from Geneva waits

At his writing table, Victor reads his father's letter telling him William is murdered

At five in the morning, a small open hand lies still in the dewy grass of Plainpalais

Victor has just read the news of William's murder.

A flash of lightning over Plainpalais shows Victor the giant he created

Sure his creature killed William, Victor sags against a rain-soaked tree at Plainpalais

In the hushed library at grey dawn, Victor stands rigid as he hears Justine Moritz's name.

After the storm, Victor's calm has set hard.

Grey morning light after the storm falls into the mourning library at Geneva.
