Elizabeth's letter and recovery beside Clerval

In the sickroom, Clerval puts Elizabeth's letter into the thin hands of recovering Victor

In Professor Waldman's parlour, Victor sits rigid in the red wing armchair and grips the armrest.

Victor stares at Krempe as the blunt praise lands, horror in his eyes

Victor's face is at peace as he reads Persian poetry by the green light of the window

Victor has spent the winter shut in sickrooms and studies.

Fully recovered, Victor lifts his smiling face to the May sky beside a flowering hedge

Victor bounds up a sunlit Ingolstadt street with his stick held high as Clerval laughs
